We strive to provide our children with the best possible education, equipping them with the necessary tools for a brighter future. By fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment, we aim to inspire our young learners in our host community schools to reach their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow.
On 12 July 2024, Tlhage Primary School welcomed a generous donation when Amtec, one of Rustenburg Process Operations’ business partners, visited the school to donate much-needed furniture. This initiative is a significant part of Amtec’s corporate social investment (CSI) projects aimed at uplifting the schools in Anglo American Platinum’s host communities.
Tebogo Matolo, the Process Operations livelihood specialist, warmly welcomed everyone and introduced the key figures involved in the donation.
This was followed by an inspiring speech from Tlhage Primary School deputy principal Letladi Lekala, who emphasised the transformative impact of such contributions on the students’ learning environment. “This generous donation from Amtec enhances our ability to provide a conducive learning space for our children. We are deeply grateful for their support,” Lekala remarked.
One of Amtec’s directors, Ben van der Merwe, shared his personal connection to the project, expressing, “My wife is a teacher, so the opportunity to contribute to a school’s needs was particularly meaningful to us. We have donated chairs and tables for the students, as well as furniture for the staffroom. As members of the Amtec community, we are grateful to Anglo American Platinum for facilitating this initiative. We look forward to continuing our support for educational projects in the future.”
The donation included not only student tables and chairs but also staffroom furniture, significantly enhancing the educational environment for both students and teachers at Tlhage Primary School.
